There’s a lot of good carrots attached to the year of jubilee, but leverage is also achieved with an electoral stick. The American Union is a coalition of swing voters—someone willing to vote tactically for both Republicans and Democrats—organizing across all 435 congressional districts. With the ability to control the outcome of dozens of close races nationwide, the American Union can decide the balance of power in the House and Senate. Incumbents of both parties can earn the American Union’s support by enacting (before the midterm election) the legislative package negotiated with President Donald Trump.
Part of demonstrating how big a stick we wield comes from the number of individual members willing to collectively bargain with their votes for federal offices. Membership in the American Union—only US citizens who will be of legal voting age by November 3, 2026—is 25¢ per day ($7/month), and the first prerequisite for voting in the people’s legislative assembly.
Big tech has taught us that if you’re not paying for a product, you are the product. Contributing $7 a month for more effective political representation could be an investment your descendants will thank you for. Even if you’re not ready to give up on partisan politics, you can still support the American Union by telling pollsters you’ll back whichever major-party candidate earns the union’s endorsement.
A year of jubilee may be our last best hope. Join the bloc to help build an America for the 100%.
